John Holder is a registered professional biologist in the Province of British Columbia and he graduated from the University of Guelph in 1973. He started his aquaculture career in that same year. He has had extensive experience with fresh water systems dealing with Salmonids and more recently with Cichlids and he can be considered an expert in this field. He has worked and consulted for aquaculture companies in five continents and he has his own consulting firm – JLH Consulting Inc

He has been involved in numerous national and international conferences both as a delegate and invited speaker. He is on the advisory board of Hatchery Magazine, a director of the Aquaculture Association of Canada as well as a contributing writer to Northern Aquaculture.
